Gallery Two, SEVENTH GALLERY, 155 Gertrude St, Fitzroy, Melbourne
This exhibition brings together the independent works of Mallory Allen and Danielle Reynolds in the terrain where their separate interests meet. This territory, which is marked by shared loss, looks at futility and insignificance in a landscape of grief. With a ‘grin and bear it’ attitude, these combined works simultaneously look at experiences of grief and growth while the work searches for something more as it gestures towards something meaningful. ‘Come What May‘ will include a comprehensive selection of Mallory’s charcoal and pencil drawings on paper that depict detailed and vast landscapes. These drawings will be accompanied by Danielle’s large-scale paintings that are comprised of a combination of colour, gesture and small digital-printed imagery.
In conjunction with these drawings and paintings, the artists will draw on their installation practices to create a physical landscape of sculptures that employ movement and humour, which is integral to both these artists.
